. . . this painting I made turned out a bit more timid than planned.
My mom and I are trying to squeeze in some time to paint together while I am visiting and I am daring myself to keep trying bolder colours because look how gorgeous a splash of a saturated colour can be:

The photo was snagged from a House and Home article about designing rooms around outfits. I am slowly adding more colour to my wardrobe, too, but given the orange and grey earrings I made this weekend, that evolution might be slow-going. Grey is still playing it pretty safe!

We recently purchased an old school desk for $3 from a junk shop. It's for my kids. My husband has been painstakingly sanding it. Then we will re-stain and coat and spray the metal in a true metal color instead of nasty brown. I can't wait to finish it!! I love breathing new life into vintagey things :)
